Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the true Word of God. Comprising of 66 books divided into Old and New Testaments, it is our divinely inspired and infallible guide for everything we believe and do.

2 Peter 1:19-21

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

We believe the original writings were verbally and plenarily inspired and that God has preserved His pure words for every generation.

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 

We recognize the Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) as the faithful texts of the original languages. We affirm that the King James Bible is God’s preserved Word in the English language.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and came to reveal God and redeem sinful mankind.

Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 

Galatians 4:4-5

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His finished work on the cross as our representative, vicarious, and substitutionary sacrifice, and that our justification is confirmed by His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Peter 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where He serves as our High Priest, acting as our Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

Hebrews 9:24

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and brings about the new birth. He lives within all believers, empowering them for godliness and securing them until the day of redemption.

Romans 8:9

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Ephesians 1:13-14

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

We believe the miraculous sign gifts (such as tongues and healing) were foundational and temporary. We believe that no specific gift, including tongues, is the common or necessary sign of the Holy Spirit's baptism. While we believe God continues to hear and answer the prayers of believers for physical healing today, we believe that the ultimate victory over sickness and death awaits the future resurrection of the body.

1 Corinthians 13:8

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

James 5:15

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s disobedience, the human race fell into sin. Consequently, all people inherit a sinful nature and are naturally alienated from God. We believe in the depravity of man, meaning that in our lost condition, we are utterly unable to provide a remedy for our own salvation.

Genesis 1:26-27

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 

We believe every human being is created in God’s image and was worth the life of His Son, Jesus Christ. This gives every person inherent dignity and worth. As a church, we seek to honor God by showing respect and Christian love to every individual we encounter.

Psalms 8:4-9

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Colossians 3:11

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 

We believe the clear biblical requirement for salvation is repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is entirely by grace, apart from any human works or merit. We believe that individuals are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous in God's sight only through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 1:12

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 

We believe in the eternal security of the believer: once saved, always saved. We believe that eternal life begins the moment a person trusts in Christ and remains their possession forever.

John 10:27-30

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 

We believe the local church is a visible assembly of baptized believers who join together to fulfill the Great Commission. We believe God has chosen the local church as His primary instrument for His work on earth, a pattern clearly established and commanded in the New Testament.

Acts 2:41-42

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

1 Timothy 3:15

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

We believe that each local church is autonomous, meaning we are self-governing and free from any outside human authority or control. We look to Jesus Christ alone as the Head of our church, and we seek His direction through His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit in our congregation.

Ephesians 1:22

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.

Acts 13:2-3

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

We recognize two scriptural ordinances: baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. We believe these are intended for the local church in this age as a visible testimony of the Gospel. Baptism symbolizes the believer's union with a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, while the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of His death until He returns.

Matthew 28:19-20

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.

We believe that the saved should live in a way that brings glory, not reproach, to Jesus Christ. We believe God calls His people to biblical separation—avoiding false doctrine, sinful practices, and worldly influences—as we strive to live lives that are holy and acceptable in His sight.

Romans 12:1-2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We believe Jesus Christ could return at any moment. We believe He will first rescue His church before a seven-year time of judgment (the Tribulation), after which He will return to earth to establish His millennial kingdom. We look forward to His literal and visible return as our "Blessed Hope".

Titus 2:13

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We believe that every person who has ever lived will be physically raised from the dead. Those who have been saved will be raised to enjoy eternal life in the presence of God, while those who have rejected Christ will be raised to face judgment and a literal, everlasting punishment.

Revelation 20:5-6

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 21:8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 

We believe that at death, the souls of the redeemed pass immediately into the presence of Christ. There, in a state of conscious bliss, they await the first resurrection. At that time, spirit, soul, and body will be reunited and transformed into a glorified state, to be forever with the Lord in His kingdom.

1 Corinthians 15:52-53

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

We believe that those who die without Christ enter into a state of conscious separation and misery. They remain there until the second resurrection, when soul and body will be reunited to stand before the Great White Throne Judgment. We believe they will then be cast into the Lake of Fire—not to be destroyed or cease to exist, but to endure everlasting, conscious punishment away from the presence of God.

Revelation 20:11-15

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

We believe in the Triune God, eternally existing as three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence, power, and glory, and possessing the same divine attributes and perfections.

2 Corinthians 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
